Modern White Oak Charm in Franklin, MA

Case Study
In partnership with DRR Contracting, we transformed a disjointed kitchen that featured a central cement pillar, standalone table, and dark cabinetry into a modern, open-concept space.
Challenges & Objectives:
- Remove the central cement pillar to improve flow and openness
- Replace the standalone table with a functional, integrated design
- Brighten and modernize with warm, natural materials
- Maximize storage with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry
- Add a stylish bar area with open shelving for added function and appeal
We removed the pillar, opening up the layout and installing a natural white oak island for warmth. White-painted maple upper cabinets created a bright, contrasting look, while partial overlay shaker cabinets offered timeless style. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry maximized storage, and a bar area with open shelving added both function and aesthetic appeal. Modern hardware, including Top Knobs Riverside pulls, ensured easy cleaning and a sleek finish. A clipped corner cabinet improved flow and storage efficiency.
The result is a spacious, stylish kitchen that seamlessly blends modern design with practicality, transforming the space into a welcoming and functional hub for the home.
Natural white oak provides a warm, modern aesthetic. Maple painted white is used to separate and lighten the upper cabinetry, creating a dynamic contrast. Top Knobs Riverside pulls offer ease of cleaning and a sleek, contemporary look. An island outlet ensures convenient electrical access, while floor-to-ceiling cabinetry maximizes storage space. Partial overlay shaker cabinets add a timeless, modern style to the overall design.
